Grown up in Switzerland you are used to an enchanting mountain world, quickly and sometimes hastily you leave other landscapes to the left. It is precisely this toxic thought, always having to compare everything, that avoids you enjoying moments in life. On Cabo Verde, I regularly caught myself doing this. Nevertheless, there was one particular hike that left me more than speechless. This hike is often not included in travel guides, or a simple side note and perhaps exactly therefore the true insider tip for your trip to the greenest island of the West African archipelago Cabo Verde.
In total nine of fifteen islands of Cabo Verde are inhabited, I visited six of them (Wikipedia hyperlinks of visited islands: Santo Antão, São Vicente, Sal, Boa Vista, Santiago, Fogo). Below read more about my favorite moments and Islands in Cabo Verde, respectively useful informations for Fogo, Boa Vista and Santo Antão.
Fogo
Visit one of the most active volcanic island; for a few days…
Boa Vista
You need to rent a car on Boa Vista, or don’t ya? One of the “sandy” islands of Cabo Verde with an astonishing wildlife and landscape.
Santo Antão
Mountains, desert, tropical forest, food and nice people, this island is the full package!
